CeraNovis wins contract for new project with European Space Agency (ESA)
CeraNovis GmbH of Saarbrücken has been awarded a contract to develop novel ceramic coatings for satellite components within the framework of ESA's OSIP program (Open Channel Early Technology Development Program).
The project COINCOAT- (Conducting Inert Non- Hazardous Coatings) will start in January 2021 and aims at developing innovative conductive coatings for the space industry whilst avoiding the use of toxic substances.
With COINCOAT, CeraNovis is expanding its expertise in the field of coatings for satellite surfaces. In addition to a long-standing + intensive collaboration on the BepiColombo mission of ESA, which was successfully launched towards Mercury in 2018, CeraNovis has been lead contractor for another project with ESA since 2019. This project’s goal is to develop the next generation of contamination-repellent coatings (CRC) for the space industry .
CeraNovis has thus succeeded in establishing a business foothold in this industry.
The development, production and distribution of ceramic coatings in aggressive environments are further activities. Products can be found as separating coatings in processing of aluminum and as high temperature corrosion and non-stick coatings for heat exchangers.
